Announcement: The China national government announced that inbound travel quarantine will be dropped to zero days effective January 8, 2023, effectively opening the border for global travel from China and eliminating virtually all travel restrictions between China and the world.
What’s Next For China: This opens the door to China’s re-engagement with global tourism and shopping abroad. For most travel destinations and tourism suppliers, hotels, shopping centers, luxury brands, airlines, car rental companies, inbound tour operators and museums, this is a pivotal moment to welcome back the world’s biggest travel spenders from China.
Since 2008: The CVS (China Visitors Summit) has been brining Chinese Global Travel Buyers around the world to meet with global travel suppliers. As a travel supplier, you can pick the buyers you want to meet, allowing you to design the event that most satisfies your sales needs, such as by buyer type: leisure, MICE, corporate etc.
CVS Connection Success: Over these years at the CVS, approximately 4000 Chinese travel buyers have met with 3000 travel suppliers in 15 minute meeting sessions, 54 pre-schedule meetings at each summit for each travel supplier over 2 days. This has resulted in over 130,000 face to face meetings produced at the CVS since inception in 2008.
For over 20 years the CVS has been bringing together global travel buyers with international travel suppliers. More than 3000 businesses have met together to do business – face to face – at CVS’s.
The CVS is all about business to business. The core of the event is two days of face to face meetings between 150 travel suppliers and 150 travel buyers resulting in over 7,000 appointments. It’s like speed dating. You get to pick the buyers and they get to pick you too. You will have 54 pre-scheduled appointments with the buyers – normally about 75% of your selected choices will be confirmed and the remainder is assigned randomly.
The CVS is not a FAM trip! The buyers are nominated based on their sales and business into the host region. The buyer delegate is then chosen based on their responsibility for procuring and developing product. Finally, each buyer must pay a registration fee or approximately €500 to join the event and purchase their own air ticket to attend, a total cost of €2500.
The CVS is produced for these regions around the world: Europe, The Middle East & Gulf, Southeast Asia, China, North & South America and Africa.
The CVS is NOT a FAM trip!
It’s a B2B trip!
The Chinese buyers are selected based on their past international business mix, the decision maker in the company responsible for product selection and development is the invited delegate. Each Chinese buyer must pay a registration fee equal to €500 and their air tickets to the CVS, typically about €2500 in total. The CVS buyers are investing their time and money and hence are significantly more valuable than buyers you might meet on a FAM trip.

Why You Should Join CVS
B2B Meetings
Two days of face to face meetings with the buyers. About four weeks before the summit, each supplier will receive a complete list of the buyers, including their contact details and a detailed description of the business that they are interested in. Suppliers are invited to pick 54 buyers they want to meet with during the face to face meetings. Simultaneously, the buyers are also selecting 54 suppliers they want to meet. Approximately 75% of your requests will be scheduled. You will receive 54 face to face meetings over the two days of the summit.
Each face to face meeting is 15 minutes. You will receive a complete schedule of your appointments and their contact details one week before the summit and a complete list of your appointments will be in your registration package when you register on-site. You are free to and encouraged to contact the buyers in advance.
Networking
During the CVS, there are several times to connect with the buyers who you do not have scheduled meetings with. Each lunch is designed to help you meet any of the buyers you want to meet. It’s easy to find a buyer at the CVS and if you need help, just ask any CVS staff to help make an introduction.
On the evening of the first day of the face to face meetings, the CVS hosts a reception and buffet for all of the Chinese buyers and international suppliers. This is a perfect time to meet and relax with the Chinese buyers. As they say in China – if you are not eating and drinking – you are not really doing business!
During the morning and afternoon breaks – you have time to connect with buyers as your share a coffee or tea. Staying in the host hotel also helps you connect with the buyers as you can enjoy breakfast with the buyers every morning.
Education
The China Training Day @ The CVS is held online on Zoom one week before the CVS. This is included with your registration.
The CTD is a an educational forum designed to immerse you in training about general travel business development and information for travel suppliers. The second track is focused on sales and marketing strategies – social media, mobile money, retail, branding, advertising and promotions. All of the presentations at the CTD will be made available for download and detailed supporting reports and articles are also included in your CTD attendee package.
